The Man'yoshu (or "Collection of 10,000 Leaves") is the oldest existing Japanese poetry collection, containing poetry dating back to as early as the 4th century. Its poetic contents range from some of the most beautiful expressions of appreciation for the landscapes of Japan, to the provocative lamentations of parted lovers.
